The Pre-Investment Visitor Visa has been officially launched by the Directorate General of Immigration (DGI). Pre-Investment Visa aims to simplify the investment process and make it easier for foreign investors to explore potential business opportunities in Indonesia.
Indonesia has been considered a highly promising investment destination in recent years, with its economy rebounding to a growth rate of 3.7% in 2021 and reaching a growth rate of 5.1% in 2022. The country’s economic growth is expected to accelerate further in 2023, driven by a strong projection of pent-up demand. As per the World Bank, Indonesia is classified as a middle-income country with growing income levels and is anticipated to ascend to upper-income status by 2030.
Silmy Karim, the Director General of Immigration, has stated that the Pre-Investment Visa is a measure put forth by the DGI to promote a more favorable investment environment for affluent foreigners.
