Visa On Arrival (VOA)

Currently, citizens from 97 countries can get Visa on Arrival (VOA) to visit Indonesia with the purposes of: tourism, governmental duties, business talks, goods purchasing, participation in meetings, or transit.

How can I get VOA, and how long does it valid?

Visa on Arrival (VOA) is valid for 30 days and can be extended one time for 30 days at the Immigration Office. So you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days in total, after that you must leave the country.

You need to pay for a visa in a special counter on the arrival point at the airport in cash (USD, EUR, AUD or IDR) or by credit card*. After that the visa should be stuck into passport in the Immigration control with stamp Visa On Arrival and the arrival date.

* Now you can also obtain an electronic Visa On Arrival (eVOA) in advance

Also, from April 6th Citizens from 10 countries can get a free 30-days visa on arrival: Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, East Timor and Vietnam.

❗VOA and Free Visa holders cannot apply for a new Stay Permit inside the country. If you would like to stay in Indonesia more than 60 days you can get a Tourist Visit Visa 211a

If you plan to stay in the country for more than 30 days, you should begin the visa extension process 1-2 weeks before the expiration date (the day of arrival is considered the first day of your visa’s validity).

What happens if you overstay your visa in Bali?

Overstay under 60 days is an administrative violation punished by law with a fee of 1,000,000 IDR per each overstay day. Overstay over 60 days is a crime and can be punished by incarceration for up to 5 years and penalty up to 500 mln IDR. Read More >>
