BPJS (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial) is Indonesia’s primary government health insurance program, designed to provide access to quality healthcare services, essential medicines, and vaccines for all residents. Initially intended to serve Indonesian citizens, BPJS is now mandatory for both Indonesians and foreign residents with temporary residence permits (KITAS).
Foreigners living in Indonesia can benefit from BPJS health insurance through their KITAS, with the exception of KITAS for remote workers. Furthermore, you can add up to five immediate family members to your coverage if they hold long-term visas for Indonesia.
