Retirement Visa KITAS

Bali is one of the coziest and comfortable places to spend time for retired persons. Good tropical climate, warmth, beautiful nature, growing medical care, and hospitality of local people… That is all you need for a careless life. Good News. Indonesian law provides a special type of visa for senior citizens – a Retirement Visa.

Retirement Visa KITAS is a temporary residence permit that is issued to applicants older than 55 years for 1 year with the possibility of extending up to 5 years. After 5 years, you will be entitled to apply for a KITAP – a permanent stay permit.

This is a multiple entry visa. You can leave the country and come back as many times as you need.

How to receive a Retirement Visa

The process of getting a Retirement Visa KITAS type 319 consists of 3 stages, which in total will take about 1,5 months.

FYI (!) Currently, you can apply for a Retirement KITAS only inside the country due to COVID-19 situation

  1. Getting e-Visa. We will prepare all the necessary documents and obtain an e-Visa type 319. The process takes about 10 -14 business days. After e-Visa is ready, we will send it by e-mail or WhatsApp
  2. Visa registration. You need to come to our office, bring your original passport within 30 days after arrival in Bali or 7 days after your visa is issued if you are already here. We register your visa at the immigration office and obtain a re-entry permit (required). The process takes about 2 weeks, and you will also need to show up once at Immigration for photos and fingerprints.
  3. The last step: you will receive your passport back and KITAS online.

You need to send us a list of required documents to start the process:

  • Scanned copy of the first page of the passport with a validity period of at least 18 months
  • The rental agreement for house or land (min one year)
  • Copy ID of your landlord (should be written inside the rental agreement)
  • Copies of the ID of 2 Balinese persons (it could be your driver or housemaid)
  • Bank statement with a minimum amount of 2000 USD
  • Color scanned copy of Healthy Insurance (valid min one month)
  • Marriage Certificate in English or Bahasa
  • Address in Bali (Note: your real physical address must match the address in your Kitas)
