Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, will be visiting Bali on April 20th for a significant event. During his visit, he will be inaugurating a new Apple Academy aimed at nurturing tech talent. This initiative reflects Apple’s commitment to empowering developers and tech enthusiasts in Indonesia.

With existing successful academies in Batam and Surabaya, the addition of Bali underscores Apple’s dedication to expanding its presence in the region and tapping into the local pool of digital talent.

The Apple Academy offers a comprehensive 10-month program covering programming, design, and essential professional skills, shaping the next generation of tech professionals. The exact location of the Bali campus is yet to be revealed.

The Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Aryo, has emphasized the importance of such academies in fostering digital talent and advancing the country’s digital future.

It’s interesting to note that the head of another technological giant, Microsoft Corporation’s Satya Nadella, also plans to visit Indonesia, three days ahead of his counterpart from Apple. Nadella’s visit to Indonesia will further solidify the collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Information and Microsoft, which began several years ago. This collaboration includes discussions and the transfer of technologies and knowledge for Indonesia’s technological transformation.

“We will again discuss how to implement technologies and knowledge for Indonesia’s digital transformation. This is our main goal,” stated Budi Aryo Setiadi.

He emphasized that artificial intelligence technology, actively developed by Microsoft, will encompass all new spheres of life. Therefore, active cooperation with industry is necessary.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, expressed hope that collaboration with Apple and Microsoft will have a significant impact on Indonesia. When it comes to investments from international corporations, Indonesian authorities focus on two main directions: human resources (HR) and manufacturing.
