The new KBLI 2025 classification has started appearing in the OSS system. This is an important update for businesses, as KBLI determines which business activity a company is registered under, what requirements apply, and whether the activity can be registered for a PMA company.
It is important to understand that the transition to KBLI 2025 does not automatically open business codes that were previously restricted for foreign investment. If a certain business activity was not available for PMA companies under the previous regulations, the updated classification does not automatically make it permitted.
Special attention should now be given to companies in Bali.
For new PMA companies in Bali Province, low-risk and medium-low-risk KBLI codes are not simply “problematic” — they are currently unavailable for registration in OSS. Restrictions may also apply to certain specific business activities that are receiving closer attention from the authorities.
For existing companies, the situation is different. An active NIB should not be revoked solely because of the transition to KBLI 2025. However, when updating company data, adding a new KBLI, or adjusting business activities in OSS, technical restrictions may appear, and additional questions may arise regarding whether the company’s actual activities match its registered KBLI codes.
What should you do now?
We can carry out a detailed review of your KBLI: check the current classification, risk level, PMA restrictions, and whether registration through OSS is currently possible.
