Working Visa KITAS

If you are going to work or obtain income in Indonesia you have to get a work visa that allows foreign citizens to work officially in the country.

You cannot work or make money in Indonesia without a work permit.

Its requirements are quite strict. A work visa is issued for a specific position in a certain company, so it is not possible to obtain a work permit before employment. Also, you are NOT allowed to work in several companies or in different positions at the same time.

Work permission can be issued for different periods, can be extendable or not. It depends on different facts. Usually, you can get a work visa for 6 months (not extendable) or 12 months (possible to extend). This is a multiple entry visa, so you can leave the country and come back as many times as you need during the validity of your visa.

How to receive a Work Visa to Bali

The process of obtaining a Work Visa KITAS type 312 consists of 5 stages, which in total will take about 1.5-2 months.

  1. Obtaining foreign worker recommendations at BKPM Jakarta. The process takes 7-10 working days.
  2. Apply for RPTKA to register foreign worker occupation and place of work. The process takes 7 working days.
  3. Apply for a work permit. The process takes 5 working days. At this step, you need to pay $1200 for taxes.
  4. Once we receive notification that the work permit is approved, we will apply for an e-Visa to enter Indonesia. The process takes 7 working days. After eVisa is ready, we will send it by e-mail or WhatsApp. If you are overseas, you have 90 days to enter the country with this visa.
  5. You need to come to our office, bring your original passport within 30 days after arrival in Indonesia or 7 days after your visa is issued if you are already here. We register your visa at the immigration office and obtain a re-entry permit (required). The process takes about 2 weeks, and you will also need to show up once at Immigration for photos and fingerprints.
  6. The last step: you will receive your passport back and KITAS online.
